We are a diverse group of professionals active in estate planning and represent various estate planning disciplines including: Attorneys, CPAs, Financial Advisors, Insurance Specialists, Planned Giving Specialists, Trust Administrators, etc.
We meet the fourth Wednesday of September, October, November, January, February, March and April at the City Club in downtown Los Angeles with a social outing usually planned for May or June. Our lunch meetings usually run from 11:45am to 1:30pm.
We endeavor to:
A. Provide our members with the latest tools and techniques in the estate planning fields.
B. Provide continuing education credits for all of the allied professionals who attend our meetings.
C. Foster understanding of the proper relationship between the functions of the disciplines and to encourage co-operation of persons acting under those disciplines.
D. Encourage and facilitate professional referrals among members of the LAEPC and their networks.
E. Serve the best interests of the public, and to promote and enhance the welfare, ethical standards, and best interests of Estate Planning Councils.
F. Establish and maintain a common meeting ground and medium for communication among Estate Planning Councils and their members, and to promote understanding and harmony among them and with the general public.
G. Improve the stature of Estate Planning Councils and their members through education programs, and to improve their qualifications to serve the public.
H. Encourage talented students with high potential to enter the field of estate planning as members of Estate Planning Councils.
I. Administer the accreditation of professionals as “Accredited Estate Planner: and to continue the use and application of the “Accredited Estate Planner” designation.
