DESCRIPTION:\n \nOverview:  The presentation first provides a brief overview of the various types of digital assets and electronic accounts people tend to own and access in modern society.  It next describes the interplay between account terms of service and federal and state laws regulating access to digital assets, and it describes the various ways in which the laws are evolving.  The presentation concludes with planning suggestions for estate planning attorneys, fiduciaries, and clients.\n  \n \nSteven Platt is a Shareholder at Parker Milliken.  His practice areas include estate planning, administration, and related litigation issues, and general commercial litigation.  Steve is experienced in drafting estate plans, trust administration, probate proceedings, litigating contested trusts, and advising clients on estate and gift tax planning.  Steve’s commercial litigation practice includes complex tort, employment, and business litigation.  He has extensive experience in cases involving trade secrets, employment-related discrimination and harassment, and claims brought under the federal Americans with Disabilities Act and related state statutes. Steve joined Parker Milliken in 2006 after graduating from U.C.
